SHIBALBA

Ok, I guess this must begin with the brand, SHIBALBA, so, here is the history:

In mayan mytology, as in manny others arround the planet were known two world, the one for live people and the other for dead ones, this last one was called XIBALBÁ, the places of the deads, it's the mayan equivalent for azten mictlan... and viceversa.to this underwolrd goes the people when they die and people said that the entrances for this world are the abundant "cenotes" in Yucatán

now, why I decided to call my brand in the same way of the mayan underworld? well, I guess in part is influence of my family, the half of they is from the mayan zone, beside my obvious love for prehispanic cultures. In this way, I thought originally to use only nahuatl voices, but then I changed my mind and decided to use different pregispanic languages (finally, in México we have a lot of towns) y and my idea pass from be MICTLAN to be XIBALBA, same concept, different culture.

As you can see, is not the same XIBALBÁ and SHIBALBA, but, why the change in the writting? Well, there are some reasons for this, first, because I nticed that maybe is easier to pronounce in a correct way the word if I changes X for SH that is the phonetic form in this specific case.

And beside this reason, exists another more personal and maybe valueless for someone (but finally it's my brand, isn't it?) and this is that when I was in jr high school I was in love with an mexican comic, "EL BULBO" by Bachan, and when just was published 10 numbers (in this moment short srtipes are published in autor's website and there are 2 books) I was in love whit the principal character and his adventures n__n and this 10 comic books was published by "SHIBALBA PRESS", so, as a little and very personal honoring to this character and his autor, I decided to call my brand in that way
